Sharlah May and Telly Ray Nash are 5 and 9 when they’re seperated after Telly is forced to murder his parents in self-defense. Now 13, Sharlah is living with former FBI profiler Pierce Quincy and his wife, Rainie Conner. For the first time since she’s been seperated from her brother, Sharlah feels safe and comfortable.  But it’s her brother, Telly, who proves himself to be a monster when there is evidence he’s responsible for a nearby convient store murder–the second stop on a suspected killing spree. All signs point to Sharlah being next on Telly Ray’s kill list.

If there is one.

The “if” is what will keep readers hooked through to the very end of the novel. Through multiple points of view, including Telly’s (which is told from the past, leading up to the event), we are given information that points to new people and new reasons why Telly’s on a shooting rampage.

With dark twists and unexpected turns (except for maybe those most familiar with police procedurals),  Lisa Gardner does not disappoint in Right Behind You.
